Description: This session will highlight key legislative issues impacting the practice of pharmacy during the 2022 Colorado General Assembly legislative session. Participants will learn about bills that have been killed, bills that have passed, and bills in process. Specific reasons as to why these bills have been introduced, problems they are trying to address, and potential impacts will be discussed.

Objectives:

  • Describe pending 2022 legislation in Colorado that may impact pharmacy practice.
  • Explain federal legislation that has the potential to impact pharmacy practice.
  • Review recent regulatory issues in Colorado that impact pharmacy practice.
  • State mechanisms by which pharmacists and technicians in Colorado may influence legislation.

Accreditation: The University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education (CPE).  This activity has been accredited for 1.0 contact hours of knowledge-based pharmacy and pharmacy technician continuing education.

To receive CPE, participants must visit https://www.lecturepanda.com/r/2022ColoradoMid-SessionLegislative and complete the registration process, take care to enter in NABP eProfile ID number and birthdate, and complete the program evaluations by April 16, 2022.  CE credit will be uploaded to CPE once evaluations are completed.
