September 2019 Quarterly Webinar

Title: Residency Training - A Fork in the Road

Date: Tuesday, September 24th

Time: 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM (MST)

Description: Learn more about the intricacies of hospital and community-based pharmacy residency programs. Many pharmacists and student pharmacists know that residencies are encouraged but do not have insight into what goes into becoming and being a resident. The webinar is structured as both a presentation and a panel discussion that will review the PGY1 purpose statements for a hospital and community-based residency program and how to apply for residency programs.  During the panel portion of the webinar, hospital or community-based programs will answer questions submitted by your peers and students.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe steps in the ASHP residency accreditation process
  • Identify required components of a PGY1 residency program
  • Compare and contrast PGY1 Hospital Residency Programs and PGY1 Community-based Residency Programs
  • Explain the residency application process
